PENGARUH VARIASI METAL TRANSFER TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK SAMBUNGAN LAS PADA PROSES PENGELASAN GMAW DENGAN PELINDUNG GAS ARGON

This study aims to determine the variation of metal transfer on tensile strength, impact, hardness distribution, macrostructure, microstructure and chemical composition low carbon steel by GMAW welding method. The material used in this was AISI 1018 steel. welded using Variation globular arc, spray arc short welding. tests carried out included testing, impact macro-structural observations, micro-structural observations composition. test phase strength refers ASTM E8/E8M-09 with specimen dimensions 100 mm long, 10 wide 5 thick, while for testing E23-07a 55 thick. a notch depth photographic macro, micro results show that maximum method is 526.3 MPa yield stress 377.3 MPa, which greater than parent metal, 454 MPa. toughness value 3.58 J/mm2. Results weld undergoes structural changes all methods. Fe content materials were 98.78% 97.76%.
